All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
My name is Abdul Butt and I live in the South East of England. I started to make prayer beads about 4 years ago when I was looking for a high quality product that I could have as a keepsake, but couldnt find anything suitable on the market.
Business InformationHow it all started
I decided to make prayer beads for myself and searched the internet for suitable materials. I was really pleased with the finished product and then friends and family began to ask me to make some for them too. I had recently retired and was looking for a hobby to keep me busy and this was perfect. I found myself spending more time searching the internet for materials and crafting the various components of the product, both of which I really enjoyed. Today I source materials from all over the world and make a variety of high quality prayer beads which I hope are special to their owners. I am 72 years old and take great pride in making prayer beads for people all over the world.
What is special about my product?
Beads - I use genuine semi precious stones (I keep away from synthetics and simulated stones) real exotic and rare woods.
Cord - This is the most common weakness in most prayer beads, and I use heavy gauge waxed cotton, nylon and silk cord to ensure longevity.
Tassel - This tends to work itself loose and become undone in lower quality products. I have designed my tassels myself, and tie them such that they are unlikely to unravel due to regular use.
Marker bead - most other products tend to have a small thin disc as a marker and I found these easy to miss whilst counting, therefore I design my marker beads not only for aesthetic look but also for positive identification by feel.
